The Tim B Humidor is made of Spanish cedar with a satisfying seal, compact size, and plenty of capacity for cigars.
Point of view
Every piece is a personal, everyday object that seeks to be satisfying and useful. The ideas start with practical need. The need is often to organize one’s items. In practice, it is sometimes called knolling.
The intersection of order, practicality, and craft is beauty. When added it to your space, furniture ought to bring satisfaction. This satisfaction can allow busy households to slow down and live in the moment.
As a consequence of the pandemic, Tim seeks a new style where work and life come together, creating different types of furniture. Tim uses earth-friendly materials when possible. The work does not aim for industrial perfection but reflects the hand of the craftsperson without decoration. It seeks to be as natural and friendly as possible. The goal is to evoke a feeling of satisfaction when the object is used.
Later in his adult life, Tim learned he was neurodivergent and was diagnosed with ADHD. His furniture is informed by one particular skill he adopted called knolling. It is the practice of arranging related objects in a visually appealing and organized manner, usually at right angles. The allows spaces to be organized and items easily found.
This brings a feeling of satisfaction. Tim integrates knolling into the design of his furniture. So there will be trays instead of drawers, limited storage, and large surfaces segmented by material or color.
