Commissions are exciting and collaborative, but it can feel intimidating. Here’s how it works. And if your interested, please fill out the form or text me at 612-707-9435.
Step 1 – Discovery
Every project starts with a conversation about your needs, space and budget (see the value comparison below).
I believe in transparency—so we will discuss pricing early to guarantee my designs align with your investment goals.
Step 2 – Design proposal
At this stage, you will get a professional proposal featuring CAD drawings and tiered investment options. I don’t just show you a price; I collaborate with you on the idea, design, engineering so you see the intent behind every detail.
Step 3 – Made in Minnesota
Once the design is finalized and the investment deposit made, the build begins in my local shop. You are part of the story—receiving photo updates as I hand-fit your piece using traditional mortise-and-tenon and castle joints. No hardware, no veneers—just physics and craft. With notice, you are encouraged to visit the shop to better understand your piece.
Step 4 – Delivery
When the piece is finished and signed, arrangements will be made to deliver and assemble the piece at your home or apartment. You will also get instructions for care.
Compare the value of High end retail vs Tim B Studio
When you buy from a high-end big box or online retailer, most of your payment covers foreign logistics and corporate overhead. At Tim B Studio, your dollars stay on the workbench—invested in familiar domestic hardwoods and master-level joinery. Because I design, make and deliver a better product in Minnesota, I save you hundreds of dollars and offer a better value.
