Partnership with Settled
Backstory: I am committed to making the world a better place. I approached Settled with an idea to build custom furniture for their permanent home projects. They build communities of tiny homes that offers stability for our city’s homeless.
Project: I was tasked to build three entry consoles to fit precisely under a counter in front of the entry.
Challenges: So I needed to deliver a piece that efficiently used space and very durable to withstand demanding conditions.
My compact entry console is solid ash with a generous tabletop, a second shelf, and storage concealed by a sturdy drop-front door. It keeps important personal items within easy reach and storage for shoes or other essentials.
Made from 3/4-inch thick hardwood, the piece is hefty and sturdy.
It needed to embody permanence and create a welcoming entry point to their new home. This project was well received and gave rise to a second project for portable side tables.
